Welcome to Southgates & The Woottons Surgeries
Coronavirus update 30/3/2020
Given the impact of coronavirus there will be changes to the way we work. We will no longer be booking appointments in advance, please call on the day you need to be seen and you will be assessed by telephone. If you already have a routine GP appointment booked but wish to avoid the surgery please inform reception and they will cancel your appointment.
Due to on-going precautions, we have taken the decision to restrict access to the practice buildings in order to protect both patients and staff. We are continuing to deal with requests over the phone and are only seeing patients for face to face treatment where absolutely necessary.
Please note; as patients have an understanding of their own health needs and how to manage them, we are not able to provide advice to patients regarding self-isolation at this time. We are directing all patients to the 111 online service for any queries they may have or suggesting that patients discuss their concerns with their employers.
We are also unable to offer Med 3 certificates just for isolation. There is guidance for employers available online. Unfortunately we cannot be of further assistance with these matters.
The situation is changing quickly and further updates will occur as required.
Requests for repeat medication can be made through Prescription Ordering Direct on 01553 605728 or via email to email@example.com.
Please do not attend the surgery if you suspect you may have coronavirus. This is for the protection of our most vulnerable patients. Please isolate yourself at home and see: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
If for any reason you need to request a sick note for your employer due to the current COVID-19 guidance of having to self isolate for 14 days please see the below link to find out how you need to request this: https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note.
We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.
Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription, booking/cancelling an appointment or send a patient access message to the practice.
Partners in Care
Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and what the practice offers are always heading in the same direction.
We have access for disabled patients including a lift to the first floor, ramps into the building and on site parking.
Online medical record viewer
In addition to the services below, our practice offers patients the facility to view areas of their medical records online. The areas patients can access include a summary of information relating to medications, allergies and adverse reactions. As well as viewing this information, there should be the facility to download and print it. If you require online access to other areas of your record please speak with the practice to ask if this can be facilitated.
GP Net Earnings
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working at Southgates Medical & Surgical Centre in the last financial year was £71,712 before tax and national insurance. This is for 3 full-time equivalent GPs, 6 part-time GPs and 4 part-time Salaried GPs.
