Welcome to Southgates & The Woottons Surgeries
We have agreed to trial a period of only booking GP appointments 2 weeks ahead. This is due to our current GP shortage and also due to the amount of appointments that are wasted with patients not attending or cancelling their appointments. The trial will start from 3rd February, please ring early in the morning 2 weeks before the date you wish to be seen for a routine appointment or follow up.
Thank you for your assistance while we trial this new system.
Please be aware that both surgeries are shut for emergency appointments on Wednesday 15th January from 1PM. During this afternoon if you require any urgent assistance please contact 111 and they will be able to advise you.
We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.
Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription, booking/cancelling an appointment or send a patient access message to the practice.
Partners in Care
Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and what the practice offers are always heading in the same direction.
We have access for disabled patients including a lift to the first floor, ramps into the building and on site parking.
Online medical record viewer
In addition to the services below, our practice offers patients the facility to view areas of their medical records online. The areas patients can access include a summary of information relating to medications, allergies and adverse reactions. As well as viewing this information, there should be the facility to download and print it. If you require online access to other areas of your record please speak with the practice to ask if this can be facilitated.
GP Net Earnings
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working at Southgates Medical & Surgical Centre in the last financial year was £71,712 before tax and national insurance. This is for 3 full-time equivalent GPs, 6 part-time GPs and 4 part-time Salaried GPs.
